The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award announced the establishment of a Scientific Research Competition (Technology Development in the Service of Humanity) for the students of Bahrain Polytechnic, which will continue until the end of the Academic Year 2022-2023.
Bahrain Polytechnic students specializing in the fields of computer sciences and engineering will compete in presenting scientific research papers related to technology and how to employ them to serve humanity, under the supervision of Polytechnic professors. In turn, The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award will provide financial rewards to the winners in the first three places of the Competition, amounting to a total of 22 thousand dollars.
His Excellency Engineer Wael Al Mubarak, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bahrain Polytechnic, praised The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award initiative, which encourages the students of Bahrain Polytechnic to compete in the field of applied sciences, praising the role of those in charge of the Award and the Kanoo Family in supporting the efforts made to improve the educational process, especially in the applied aspect of it, which he confirmed received great attention from the state and is relied upon in equipping the labour market with well-qualified graduates.
The Dignitary Khalid Kanoo, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, affirmed that the Award is in the service of Bahrain and in the service of everything that is in the interest of science and scientific research.
Since its establishment in 1998, it has sought to encourage and honour the distinguished in the fields of science of all kinds, whether in Bahrain or the Arab countries, expressing his happiness in supporting the efforts of Bahrain Polytechnic, which is keen to provide the highest levels of education.
Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, the CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, confirmed that graduates of Polytechnic are among the graduates who receive the most job opportunities, at a rate of up to 87% of graduates, which indicates the efficiency and quality of education in Polytechnic and its development, which qualifies students to enter the labour market very quickly. He also thanked those in charge of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award for allocating the Scientific Research Competition of the Eleventh Season for polytechnic students, expressing his optimism for the continuation of cooperation between the two institutions.
The Dignitary Fawzi Kanoo, the Vice President of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, confirmed that the Group seeks to attract the competencies of Bahraini graduates from Bahrain Polytechnic in the technical Departments of the Group, praising the pioneering role played by Bahrain Polytechnic in applied sciences.
The ceremony announcing the Scientific Research Competition was attended by members of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award and representatives of the administration of Bahrain Polytechnic.
