The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award Publishes the Study “The Gulf Transition to Renewable Energy to Achieve Sustainable Energy”
The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award published on its website the economic study that won First Place in the Tenth Season, entitled (Gulf Transition to Renewable Energy to Achieve Sustainable Energy: Reality Challenges and Future Prospects). The study reviews the capabilities of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to generate energy using alternatives to fossil fuels, such as solar radiation, wind, and geothermal energy. It also assesses the extent of their use and suggests ways to increase their percentage in the energy production process.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, the Dignitary Khalid Kanoo, affirmed the Award’s keenness to disseminate scientific economic research, the copyrights of which are reserved by it for the largest possible number of researchers and those interested in economic affairs, to be a source of information and a reference for their future studies. He also praised the efforts of the Egyptian researcher Mohamed Ibrahim Shalabi in preparing the winning economic study in the Tenth Season and the important information and conclusions it contained. 

The Dignitary explained that the Award was in the process of publishing all the winning research papers and studies since the first seasons on the website to facilitate access to them and to be accessible to everyone.

The researcher Mohamed Shalabi praised the distinguished role of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award in supporting the Arab researchers and its interest in publishing research papers and making them available to all those interested. He also thanked and appreciated those in charge of the Award for providing the opportunity for other academics to compete in the field of scientific research related to economic affairs, which motivated them to strive and submit studies of quality and added scientific value.

About The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award

The Board of Directors of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group of Companies issued a decision to establish The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award and allocated an amount of six million US dollars as an endowment for it.  The Board specified three valuable cash prizes, in addition to other prizes to be distributed to the winners through scientific and artistic competitions judged by judges in various specializations that constitute additional motivation for creativity and achievement. The approval of His Excellency the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Information of the Kingdom of Bahrain to establish the Award was issued by Decision No. 4/1998.
