Women Beat the List of Participants in the Fine Arts Competition of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award
The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award announced the closure of participation in the Fine Arts Competition for the Eleventh Season, which achieved a high turnout. The number of artistic works that adhered to the Competition’s requirements in terms of idea, content and form reached 70 artistic works, which is double the number of the artistic works that participated in the previous Season. Most of the artworks were the signature of 62 young female artists.

The Dignitary Khalid Kanoo, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, confirmed that those in charge of the Award were keen in this Season to intensify the advertising and promotion of the Competition through modern means of communication, which contributed significantly to increasing the number of participants from the target group, which is the youth category. Direct communication with the various artistic and youth centres and associations concerned with the fine arts and urging them to have their members participate also contributed to the increase in the percentage. Kanoo expressed his happiness with the professional level of the artworks that entered the Competition, which demonstrate the capabilities and creativity of the Bahraini artist.

The Fine Arts Competition for The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award for the Eleventh Season was entitled (Bahraini Women), and left the participants free to express the title through artistic works of various shapes and character, including drawing, sculpture, printing, and other arts. The First Place prize for the Competition reaches ten thousand dollars, and will be allocated to the best artistic work that expresses Bahraini women based on the evaluation of a judging committee composed of specialists in the field of fine arts, which will begin its work during the coming month of October.
