On this occasion, the Dignitary Khalid Mohamed Kanoo, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the British University in Bahrain for its keenness to cooperate with the Award in the field of publishing research and holding workshops and seminars. He also hailed the high academic level demonstrated by the University since its establishment in 2018, and its ability to attract large numbers of students in its various specializations. Kanoo stressed that The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award seeks to strengthen its relationship with all the higher education institutions in Bahrain and abroad, and cooperate with them in order to pay attention to science and encourage scientific research.
On this occasion, Dr Ibrahim Janahi, President of the British University of Bahrain, expressed his great happiness and stated: “We are pleased to cooperate with The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, as it is one of the most important and leading national institutions in the field of promoting research and scientific publishing, and culture in Bahrain. It is expected that this fruitful cooperation will encourage the enhancement of scientific and research expertise for faculty members and university students. Janahi added that: “Consolidating the bonds of cooperation and positive participation with national scientific and cultural bodies and institutions is one of the strategic priorities of the British University in Bahrain and an extension of the philosophy of our mother university, the University of Salford, Manchester. From this standpoint, we are keen to establish and develop long-term cooperation relationships with all the scientific and cultural institutions, most notably The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award.”
The MoU’s signing ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, the members of the Award’s General Secretariat, the Head of Legal Affairs at The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Company, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the British University in Bahrain.
It is worth noting that, in January 2024, The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award honoured ten winners at the conclusion of the Eleventh Season, who received cash prizes totalling 72 thousand dollars. The ten winners joined 45 winners who took First Places in all the Award Seasons that were launched since 1998. The Award is now preparing to launch a group of new competitions in the Twelfth Season. The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award is concerned with sober scientific research and encourages its publication. It also cares for the Arab researchers and aims to shed light on their scientific projects.
